
When I was growing up in Mumbai, my school lunch box was a stainless steel airtight container (or dabba). Even in our home kitchen, there wasn’t a plastic container in sight. Everything was stored in stainless steel. Fast forward to today, and I’m on a strict mission to transition my Los Angeles apartment kitchen into a plastic-free zone. I started to look for a modern evolution of the traditional Indian dabba.
